Recycle your small electrical appliances!

Just like used (rechargeable) batteries, waste electrical equipment can also have a second chance at life! It can’t be disposed of in the residual waste either. All products that flash, light up, make noise or move are powered by (rechargeable) batteries and, at the end of their lives, have to be taken to one of the more than 2,000 collection points in Austria’s towns, cities and municipalities. Products that fit that description include the likes of electric toothbrushes, electronic children’s toys, razors, digital cameras, GPS systems, cell phones and handheld tools (cordless drills, etc.).

Other small electrical appliances include the likes of irons, blenders, coffee machines and radios, tools like drills or circular saws, and all computer accessories like keyboards, printers, mice, USB sticks or headsets.

All other waste electrical equipment, such as monitors, refrigerators, large appliances (like washing machines) and gas discharge lamps, can be handed in at municipal collection points free of charge.

You’ll find the address and opening hours of your local collection point here!
